Have you ever written an argumentative essay? Do you know what an argumentative essay is? An argumentative essay is a type of essay that presents both sides of on an issue. It is basically used to persuade other’s to agree with you on a particular subject or idea. The subject of my essay was “Should the government provide free health care”. My side on this argument was yes which was pretty easy to argue, but it still had its challenges. My experience on the process of writting this essay was unchallenging, demanding, and informative.
First and foremost, my experience on the process of writing this essay was unchallenging. Coming up with a view point on “Should the government provide free health care” was a breeze. As a little girl I would always question was medical services cost money and a lot at that too. It just did not seem fair and as I got older I questioned it more and more now realizing the many other expenses that you have as an adult. Also if there are countries like Australia who have free health care for its citizens then why is America not be able to? All of these aspects stormed into my brain as soon as I picked the subject as to me it was entirely obvious on what side I was going to choose.
In addition, my experience on the process of writing this essay was demanding. I had done argumentative essays before In the past, but this one got me a little out of my comfort zone and I did not like that. When my teacher, Mrs.Wright told me and my classmates that she wanted us to include MLA format I was stuck. I never used MLA format before and on top of that I did not understand it. Mrs. Wright also wanted us(me and my classmates) to put that after our in text citations which I believe I did wrong anyways.
Finally, my experience on the process of writing this essay was informative. I learned alot from this and It was Just how to do and/or use MLA format, but why the government really should provide free health care. I can say that all-in-all all of my reasonings behind my argument were strong and made alot of sense especially the one where I said Health care should be a basic human right. It really opened my eyes to the matter itself. I can not think of anything else that should be overly advocated.
As a result, my experience on the process of writing this essay was unchallenging, demanding, and informative. Understanding the process was something that I did not do at first, but when I did it was fulfilling . I now understand MLA format a lot more and I brushed up on my citing skills. I also got informed on the difficulties of getting health care in America. I honestly would not have asked for a different outcome.
